Dr. Alyssa Savage received her Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVetMed) from The Royal Veterinary College in 2014, and holds membership with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS). Prior to vet school, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Bryn Mawr College in 2001, a background that helps shape her thoughtful, communicative approach to veterinary care.
She joined Manheim Pike Veterinary Hospital in 2020, and has since been a valued part of the team for her empathy, exceptional communication skills, and dry wit. A proud dog person, especially fond of the goofy, not-too-clever kind, Dr. Savage provides personalized, attentive care that builds lasting trust with both patients and their people.
In addition to general practice, Dr. Savage has pursued advanced training in ophthalmology, completing 30 hours of continuing education through VetGirl, earning her Ophthalmology Certificate. This ongoing dedication helps her stay at the forefront of diagnostic and treatment options for eye conditions in companion animals.
When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll often find her at the YMCA on Sunday mornings, followed by a well-earned brunch. Her superpower? She’s a fantastic listener. Her pantry is never without Peanut M&M’s, and while she’s not much of an ice cream fan, she can cook up a storm, it’s her favorite way to relax. Her most memorable vacation took her to Athens, Greece, but if she could hop on a plane today, she’d be headed straight to Rome.
As for karaoke? That’s a hard no—but she’ll happily cheer from the sidelines.
This year, Dr. Savage has set a meaningful (and adorable) personal goal: to pet more dogs. At MPVH, she continues to blend skill, compassion, and a touch of humor to provide top-quality care that pets and their families can count on.
